Zenith Releases New Rolling Stones Watch

The Rolling Stones have been around so long that their fans wonder if every tour will be the band’s last. How long can a group of septuagenarians be expected to rock? In the case of Mick, Keith and company the answer for now in through one more tour. As the iconic British band gets ready to hit the road again Zenith is bringing out a new limited edition timepiece.

Last year Zenith and the Rolling Stones began their partnership with the release of the Zenith El Primero Chronograph Limited Edition The Rolling Stones Watch which prominently featured the group’s famous “lips” logo. Just 250 pieces of this watch were available at $9,800 each.

The new Zenith El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tribute to the Rolling Stones is subtler than its predecessor with the logo appearing on the rear sapphire crystal caseback and leather strap rather than on the dial. The British Union Jack flag is also embossed at each end of the strap.

This model has a 45mm DLC-coated black titanium case housing the in-house made Zenith El Primero caliber 4061 automatic chronograph. The movement may be viewed through open windows on the dial of the watch.

The 2015 Zenith “Tribute to The Rolling Stones” watch will be made in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, each priced at $14,200. The timepiece will be sold first at Harrod’s in London before becoming available at the brand’s other retailers worldwide.

Some may find it odd that a rather conservative name like Zenith would be partnering up with the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest rock band,” but when an act has managed to stay together for more than 50 years it’s obvious that time really is on their side.
