Jon King Explains the Tiffany Mystique

The name Tiffany is better known for lavish jewels than fine watches but the brandโ€™s latest creation the CT60 collection is definitely getting attention. The initials are a tribute to founder Charles Tiffany while the number is tied to the magical dynamism of New York City where the company was born and has its iconic Fifth Avenue store.

โ€œThe New York minute is richer, deeper, fuller and faster than anywhere else in the world,โ€ is the way Jon King, executive vice president of Tiffany & Co, explained the naming of the collection. โ€œThereโ€™s this feeling that you can achieve more in a minute in New York than you can anywhere else.โ€

The CT60 collection is certainly a worthy representative of the Tiffany & Co. name comprising 22 models for men and women including a limited edition 18K gold calendar watch with 42-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal case back and shock-absorption system. That one is made in 60 pieces, of course.

The collection was designed with the brandโ€™s most loyal aficionados in mind. โ€œWe have loyal Tiffany customers around the world who have said to us: โ€˜We want a watch that reflects your brand,โ€™โ€ King said. โ€œWith the CT60, you have a dial thatโ€™s quite open, numbers that are easy to read โ€“ this is linked to that American spirit of being straightforward and transparent. The watch offers great clarity, and is not overly designed or ornate; there are no design elements that donโ€™t serve a function.

โ€œThe CT60 is distinguished by its style. We are not speaking to the watch connoisseur who is only interested in complications; we are speaking to a client who responds to style.โ€

If thereโ€™s one thing that all lovers of Tiffany items have in common, itโ€™s a love for style. The CT60 collection is available at Tiffany & Co. retailers worldwide.

Bravo! This watch sounds magnificent! I am always interested in what’s new at Tiffany’s, with the very talented Jon King at the helm.
