Jean-Claude Biver Explains Why Watches and Sports Go Together
Many watch brands have partnership deals with at least one sports team or event but Hublot has raised the matchups to a fine art. At this week’s Leaders Sport Business Summit, Hublot’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver shared some of his secrets for using sports to sell products like high-end watches.
Biver stated that sports icons strike a chord with Hublot’s target market because they teach valuable lessons about overcoming defeat. “Thanks to every defeat you come closer to success. That is the magic rule of sport,” said Biver. “Learn from your defeat and transform each defeat into the next success. This is an incredibly great value and a great asset. Every leader knows that. Every trendsetter knows it. Every successful entrepreneur knows it.”
Since Hublot’s list of sponsorships includes famous names like Usain Bolt, the Dallas Cowboys and Ferrari, Biver is obviously on to something.
