Withings Activite Gets in the Swim
Just in time for summer fun, the Withings Activite smartwatch has added a new feature just for swimmers. A software update allows the watch to detect when the wearer goes swimming and automatically tracks sessions in the water. Users can see how long they swam and how many calories burned by checking their smartwatches after finishing their swim.
This new functionality that has been added to the Withings Health Mate app sends information on the user’s water-related activities to the Withings Activite or Activite Pop smartwatch. Withings claims that these are the “first activity trackers on the market to offer automatic swim detection.” It is necessary for users to dive into the water to activate the app.
According to Withings, “Never fear, the hottest summer tracker is here. Stay tuned in the coming months for more updates to these awesome swim tracking features.”
The update is available for iOS users now with the Android version promised “very soon.” Hopefully before summer is over.
