Tissot Reveals Prototype Smartwatch

As predicted, smartwatches are the hot topic at Baselworld 2015 as some of the worldโs top makers of luxury timepieces unveil their own ventures into the world of wearables. One of them is the Swatch Groupโs Tissot brand, which gave attendees their first look at a prototype smartwatch expected to hit stores later this year.
The Tissot wearable device is housed within a T-Touch Solar Expert that can connect to an outdoor Bluetooth weather station equipped with a variety of sensors to provide up-to-the-minute information on temperature, humidity and more.
Also included in the package will be locators that can be attached to mobile phones, wallets and other items for proximity alarms or navigation. Another feature that will be on board is NFC so mobile payments should be possible with the Tissot smartwatch.
Tissot did not give exact release dates or pricing information.
