Ralph Lauren Debuts New Safari Watches
For decades, Ralph Lauren has been known for his safari chic clothing and the designer added watches to the Sporting Collection two years ago. The Safari Chronometer carried out the rugged but refined Lauren spirit with weathered alligator straps, nature-inspired dials and unusual finishes.
Now Lauren has added new pieces to the collection including the Safari RL67 Chronometer with 45mm gunmetal finish steel case and camo dial that sells for $3,800. Another new model is the RL67 Safari Chronometer with 39mm case and khaki toned dial. Both models will be in stores soon.
Lauren explained his fascination with the safari lifestyle. “When I started out as a designer, I dreamed of going to Africa, to safari,” he said. “Safari is about living the life you want and pushing yourself beyond your limitations. It’s the dream of experiencing the wild and seeing the farthest reaches of the world.”
Maybe the closest you’re going to get to a safari is taking Fido to the local dog park but at least you can live out the fantasy of adventure with a Ralph Lauren Safari watch.
Veritime Adds Champs Élysées Watches to Roster
The new watch brand Champs Élysées made its debut at Baselworld 2015 with the first models set to hit stores in October. The lavish debut collection is made up of high-end watches for women adorned with diamonds and other gems that should be a hit with the holiday shopping crowd. Now distributor Veritime has added Champs Élysées watches to a roster that already includes H Moser & Cie and Meistersinger.
Champs Élysées founder and CEO Keyvan Lamé gave this statement on the Parisian inspiration behind the watches. “The Champs Élysées models are high jewellery watches that utilise the very best diamonds and other precious stones. Inspired by the passion and talent of the watchmakers and jewellers, our timepieces are messages of love.”
The Champs Élysées models will sell for £3600 – £30,000 ($5,665 – $47,215 USD).
