Pebble CEO Hints at New Models
In the growing smartwatch field Pebble has a head start, having already sold a million units before Apple even has its first model in stores. With plenty of competition looming this year, Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky has plans to build on the momentum that has made the company the number two manufacturer of smartwatches after Samsung.
In an interview earlier this week, Migicovsky dropped a few hints about what the future holds for Pebble. He promised big changes in the 2015 models, saying, โYou’ll actually interact with the watch in a completely different way than you do today.โ
One thing to expect from the next Pebble is a new OS. โWeโve found a new framework to use as an interaction model on the watch. It doesnโt look like what we have today, and it doesnโt look like whatโs on your smartphone.โ
While other makers of smartwatches seem to be determined to cram every possible bell and whistle into one wrist-sized device, Migicovsky intends to keep the Pebble simple and easy to use. โItโs an extremely important thing for us,โ he stated. โI like being able to look down at my wrist and see what time it is.โ Look for the latest batch of Pebbles later this year.
