Omega brand ambassador Nicole Kidman looked as elegant as the sparkling diamond watch on her slender wrist at last week’s launch of the De Ville Prestige Butterfly in Seoul, South Korea. The Oscar-winning actress showed off her new blonde locks as she walked the red carpet with her husband, country star Keith Urban.
This event at Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza was Kidman’s first public appearance since the sudden death of her father last month. The stylish star looked totally chic in an ink navy flowing gown by Dolce & Gabbana accessorized with four-inch stilettos by Christian Louboutin and diamonds by Harry Winston.
Kidman has been an Omega brand ambassador since 2005, making the Aussie beauty part of a star-studded cast that includes supermodel Cindy Crawford, astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, the latest “James Bond” star Daniel Craig and actor/activist George Clooney.
The Omega De Ville Prestige Butterfly watch made its official debut this summer at Baselworld and was previewed along with the rest of the Omega collection for 2014-2015 at the Soho House in West Hollywood.
The Omega De Ville Prestige Butterfly is truly a timepiece fit for a movie star and exudes elegance with a white mother-of-pearl dial accented by a totally feminine butterfly design. The face has traditional dauphine hands and is adorned with eight or nine diamonds set in 18-carat red gold. The unique butterfly design is created with a delustering process that produces a matte outline set against the mother-of-pearl background.
The De Ville Prestige Butterfly is available in several styles including a model with a stainless steel case and a matching bracelet or leather strap. The bi-color version combines stainless steel with 18K red or yellow gold with either a gold-colored bracelet or leather strap.
The Butterfly comes in a choice of two case sizes are 32.7mm and 36.8mm, with the bracelet band available for the smaller size. On the inside is a quartz or Co-Axial mechanical movement. The larger 36.8mm model sports a Caliber 2500 automatic chronometer with Co-Axial escapement while the 32.7mm version is available with either the Caliber 2500 automatic chronometer with Co-Axial escapement or a Caliber 4061 quartz movement. The quartz model can be ordered with a champagne ramolayage dial that has a circular brushed finish. The domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal has anti-reflective treatment on the inside. The Butterfly is water-resistant to 30 meters (100 feet).
So what’s the price tag for all this diamond-studded glamour? The Omega De Ville Prestige Butterfly is in stores now and retails for $5,025 to $34,500. This is undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching and envy-inducing new ladies watches, one that is certain to be seen on the wrists of the world’s most elegant (and wealthy) women in the coming months.
