Huawei Watch Available Now
Smartwatches arenโt just getting smarterโtheyโre also getting better looking. One fine example is the Huawei Watch, which draws the inspiration for its classic style from traditional luxury watches but also has the features youโd expect from a high tech device.
The first thing you notice about the Huawei Watch is that it looks like a real watch, one you could wear to work instead of just out jogging. This classy smartwatch is distinguished by the hand polished round face with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch can be modified for any occasion with a wide selection of pre-installed watch faces plus a range of cases.
Several retail outlets are now selling various models of the Huawei Watch including the Google Store, which offers the device with a silver case and Milanese-inspired bracelet. Amazon has three options starting with a black case and link bracelet for $350. A silver version with leather band is $400 and the stainless steel model with matching bracelet is $450.
The watch sports a 1.4โ screen with 42mm body and 400 x 400 resolution with 286 pixels per inch. On the inside is 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, built-in mic, gyroscope with accelerometer, PPG and barometer. Powering the device is a 300 mAh battery. There are currently 4,000 apps for the Huawei Watch available at the Google Play Store.
The smartwatch has the usual fitness features like built-in heart rate monitor and the ability to track exercise activities. Other functions include allowing the user to access calls, emails and messages separately from their smartphones. The Huawei watch runs Android Wear and is compatible with Android 4.3 and iOS 8.2.
With a starting price of $349, the Huawei Watch looks like a worthy competitor to the other smartwatches hitting stores this fall.
