TW Steel Launches Kelly Rowland Special Edition

Kelly Rowland has a lot to celebrate these days. The former Destiny’s Child singer has a new husband, a baby on the way and a new designer watch for TW Steel. Rowland has been affiliated with the brand since 2012, but this timepiece marks the first time the TW Steel ambassador has actually taken a hand in creating a new design.

The Kelly Rowland Canteen Bracelet Special Edition has the kind of fashion forward styling that’s sure to appeal to the woman on the go, sporting an all-black PVC coated steel case and bracelet, both with a brushed steel finish. The revised link design of the 40mm model differs from the original 2012 Canteen Bracelet styles. The face features numbering and indexes of rose gold, while Kelly’s signature decorates the back. This timepiece is powered by a Miyota 0S20 movement and is water resistant to 10 ATM.

The Kelly Rowland Canteen Bracelet Special Edition (TW312) sells for $650 and will be in stores in time for the holiday shopping season. The previous Kelly Rowland models for TW Steel, which have rose gold plated faces with sapphire crystals and leather bands in pink or blue, sell for $995 each. All are available now at TWSteel.com.

Rowland expressed her enthusiasm over the Special Edition in a press statement: “I just love the simple, elegant look of my new TW Steel. While my CEO Tech editions screamed color and fashion, I adore the classic design of the Canteen Bracelet model with the simplicity of the rose gold numbers and indexes off-set against the use of the black case and bracelet.  It’s such a comfortable fit and I think, as a highly desirable accessory, it will compliment a wide variety of looks and outfits.”

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Rowland revealed how she became a brand ambassador for TW Steel and why she enjoys the job. “For me I love the style. The pink watch, for example, is a nice pop of color and a statement piece. But they serve as both. There are people who are obsessed with their watches. My husband is one of those people. Some men are watch connoisseurs.

“I love big-faced watches so one day I took my best friend’s TW Steel watch and wore it. The next thing I knew we were being introduced to the TW Steel family.”

While some fashion watch brands seem to be downsizing, the Kelly Rowland Canteen Bracelet Special Edition is the type of big watch that makes a bold entrance and turns heads. On the TW Steel site, Rowland says, “I love the statement wearing a big watch makes and they just get what it is to be fun and stylish at the same time.”

Rowland and her new signature watch can be seen in the “This is My Time” ad campaign shot by fashion photographer Rahi Rezvani that shows the singer modeling an array of glamorous gowns along with the stylish timepiece.
