Richard Mille Gets Sexy with the RM69 Erotic Tourbillon

Can a watch be sexy without depicting explicit acts on the dial or case? Luxury watchmaker Richard Mille chose a more subtle approach in presenting his latest timepiece, which is risqué but still tasteful.

To create the RM69 Erotic Tourbillon, Richard Mille teamed up with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi to design a watch that features randomly selected text messages on the dial. The upper half of the dial has three titanium rollers with each showing a part of a romantic message. Each roller contains six different message fragments for a variety of possibilities.

The text fragments combine to form a sexy message like “I want to caress you madly” or “Let me kiss you tonight.” Pressing on a button at the 10 o’clock mark will reveal a new message. A press on another button at the 8 o’clock position will cause the hour and minute hands to retract, making the message easier to read.

That’s the extent of the raciness for the Erotic Tourbillon, which comes in a titanium version of the RM 69 case. The watch gets its power from the RM69 self-winding tourbillon caliber boasting a power reserve of 69 hours. Funny how that number keeps coming up, isn’t it?

There’s nothing that marks the Richard Mille RM69 Erotic Tourbillon as a men’s or ladies’ watch but the fairly large size makes this model more likely to appeal to the guys. While this watch is certainly a conversation piece, it might prove awkward to have a female co-worker or client glance at a naughty message in the middle of an important meeting. It’s also better suited to a romantic dinner with your loved one than a family dinner.
