Omega Creates New Watches for World Sight Day
Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman and supermodel Cindy Crawford are two of the most eye catching brand ambassadors for the luxury watch brand Omega so itโs only natural that the pair of beauties would be chosen to raise awareness for a charity that fights blindness as well as four new timepieces.
Thursday, October 15 is World Sight Day and Omega is honoring the occasion with a series of print ads for the brandโs fundraising initiative with the charity Orbis International. The ads, which ran in the U.K. Daily Telegraph, show Crawford and Kidman cuddling Omegaโs trademark teddy bears. Online ads also feature Olympic athlete Michael Phelps and Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.
Kidmanโs ad reads: โToday is World Sight Day, yet the inspiring work of Orbis International continues all year round. Together with Nicole Kidman, OMEGA is proud to support their life-changing eye treatments for people in the world’s most remote regions. And a cuddly teddy bear for every young patient is just the start of what we do.โ
Omega has created four special watches to commemorate the brandโs support for Orbis International. The 24mm Orbis Constellation Star sports a stainless steel case with matching bracelet and a blue dial adorned with 18K gold stars and surrounded by a diamond paved bezel. The price for this quartz watch is $5,100. A 27mm co-axial version of the Orbis Constellation is $8,600.
The 41mm De Ville Hour Vision Blue model has a deep blue dial with stainless steel case, black leather strap and a retail price of $7,200. The 41mm Omega De Ville Hour Vision Co-Axial Annual Calendar model has a stainless steel bezel and case body with blue leather strap. The blue dial has a blue hour track and 18K white gold hour, minute and seconds hands. The price for this timepiece is $10,600.
