Martian Active Collection Smartwatches Coming to Bloomingdale’s
Martian Watches is best known for its attractive analog smartwatches but the California-based developer has something special coming this month. The Martian Active Collection is a group of voice command smartwatches that will be sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s department stores.
The three new men’s models include smart features, classic styling and two-year batteries but the real story is in the directional speaker and noise-cancelling microphone that allow the user to access the voice command functions of their smartphones as well as receive spoken messages. This gives users the ability to place calls, listen and respond to messages, search the web, send voice-to-text SMS and email messages, set reminders and more.
Martian watches offer easy access to incoming messages with custom vibration patterns and “quick recall” of the last alert via a tap on the glass. All watches in the Martian Active Collection are water-resistant and work with either iOS or Android operating systems.
The Active Collection also includes Dual Mode functionality for voice command functions using Classic Bluetooth with Bluetooth LE providing hands-free and eyes-free notifications. Other features included are silent alarms, notification history, second time zone and find phone.
The three lines in the Martian Active Collection include the Martian Aviator, the Martian Envoy and the Martian Alpha. The Martian Aviator has the timeless look of a vintage pilot’s watch combined with the high-tech capabilities of a smartwatch. The Martian Envoy is a rugged timepiece made for enjoying the great outdoors while keeping up with what’s going on back at the office. The Martian Alpha sports a military-inspired look with an uncluttered 24-hour clock display.
The Martian Active Collection will be available exclusively at Bloomingdale’s stores, starting on Wednesday, September 12 at the chain’s flagship store at 59th and Lexington in NYC, and at Bloomingdales.com later in the month. Prices start at $249.
