Itโs one thing to show your loyalty to your alma mater or favorite sports team by wearing a watch bearing their logo but a timepiece emblazoned with the brand of a terrorist group? Thatโs exactly what can be found at one market in Mosul, Iraq, where among the usual wares is a display of watches aimed at devotees of the Muslim jihadist group ISIS.
The watches, which are available in a variety of sizes and styles, sport a black-and-white image of the groupโs flag along with an Islamic declaration of faith that is sacred to Muslims. In the past, the group has also marketed coffee mugs and T-shirts as part of their PR campaign.
Given to opinion that most of the world has of ISIS these days that PR campaign isnโt working very well. Donโt expect to see a display of ISIS merch at your local Walmart anytime soon.
