Kai Lenny and TAG Heuer Team Up for Hawaiian Charity
When heโs not busy being a surfer, windsurfer, kite surfer and six-time World Stand-Up Paddle Champion, Kai Lenny devotes time to his +Positively Kai Foundation. This week the surfing champ teamed up with luxury watch brand TAG Heuer and DFS to organize a very special day for the children of Hawaii who love the ocean while raising money for a worthy cause.
The day began with Lenny taking a lucky group of children to Waikiki Beach for personalized surfing lessons as the pro shared his skills with the kids while instilling a respect for the ocean and raising their awareness of safety issues. The day ended with a Hawaiian-themed cocktail party at the T Galleria Waikiki attended by more than 100 guests and hosted by Lenny.
TAG Heuer brand ambassador Lenny has used his visibility as an athlete and role model to launch his +Positively Kai foundation this year. The foundation aims to support organizations that strive to increase respect for the ocean and awareness of protecting it as well as teaching young people about water safety.
The goal of this special day was a donation of $10,000 to Nฤ Kama Kai (Children of the Sea), a charity whose mission is to empower youth by supporting programs that raise awareness about ocean safety and conservation as well as educating children about Hawaiian culture, values and environment. The donation of $10,000 from TAG Heuer and DFS will go a long way toward helping this organization achieve its goals.
All in all, it was a day filled with Aloha spirit, combining fun with serious issues about preserving the ocean and the environment. Kai Lenny is one brand ambassador who truly embodies the TAG Heuer motto of #DontCrackUnderPressure: do things seriouslyโbut always have fun doing it.
