Hublot King Power Oceanographic 4000

Since 1980, when Hublot first started manufacturing watches it was clear that this fledgling company was destined for great things. Its attitude towards horology was cavalier and Hublot made it clear that it wasn’t afraid to go against the grain. Hublot’s ability to innovate and create stunning works of art is the reason that this Swiss made manufacturer has earned a place in the modern watchmaking hall of fame.

The release of the Hublot King Power Oceanographic 4000 has made some serious waves in the watchmaking community.  This watch is limited in production to 1000 pieces. This watch is unique in many ways but the most striking thing about the Oceanographic 4000 is its water resistance which stands at an astounding 4000 meters (400 ATM). There isn’t a watch on the market right now with a higher water resistance. This ensures that this watch is ready for all that life throws at you.

The case is crafted from satin finished titanium with dimensions of 48mm for the diameter. The titanium makes this watch ultra-light and is stronger than steel for a thoroughly dependable timepiece. The bezel is fixed and is manufactured from circular grained micro-sandblasted titanium. The bezel is also fitted with Hublot’s iconic signature – the 6 H shaped screws, made from black PVD titanium. The main crown is located at the 4 o’clock position, while the prominent rotator for the internal bezel is located at the 2 position. Internal bezels are used to nullify the chance of any accidental modifications to the elapsed time counter.

The dial is matte black and it features rhodium toned elements with green luminescence. The lume stands out nicely against the dial offering optimal legibility. Protecting the dial is an antireflective sapphire crystal which safeguards against nicks and scratches. This model is powered by the automatic HUB1401, which carries a power reserve of 42 hours. The movement beats at a constant 28,800 VpH. Apart from the black rubber strap, there is an additional strap made from Nomex and black rubber. Hublot guarantees this watch from manufacturer’s defects for 2 years from the date of purchase.
