Huawei Teases Honor Band Zero
The invasion of the wearable devices has just begun and the latest tech firm to bring out a new smartwatch is Huawei, which teased its product with a mysterious tweet this week.
The cryptic message said: โ#Honorโs smart wearable device that embodies a minimalistic design, that’s #HonorBandZero. #HuaweiFacts.โ Accompanying the tweet was a photo of Huaweiโs Honor Band Zero but the round screen is not turned on so we get no clue as to what the dial will look like or whether the device will run Android Wear or Huaweiโs own Talkband B2.
Honor is a budget-friendly sub-brand of Huawei and the Band Zero is its first wearable device. The Band Zero is expected to be more of a fitness-related device like Fitbit rather than a full-fledged smartwatch like the Apple Watch.
Huawei has been stingy about revealing details on the Honor Band Zero but we do know that it has a circular dial with metal bezel and is dust-proof and water-resistant. The device has a pedometer and speed tracker, plus the ability to display incoming calls and display notifications. Color choices of black, white or beige will be available.
Thereโs no definite release date for the Band Zero but rumor has it that the device will make its debut at Berlinโs IFA 2015 the first week of September.
