Graham has always been a sensible watch brand, with designs that are unique but not really over the top like some of its modern day contemporaries. In the early days, Graham which was UK based, used to proudly stamp their creations as โmade in Londonโ. This style of branding earned the brand some notoriety as a company that went against the grain and did things their own way. Today, the company is based, and manufacturers their timepieces in Switzerland.
The Silverstone RS Skeleton is yet another watch that has linked timepieces with automobiles in the design. The two industries are full of comparatives in terms of precision, construction, aesthetics, and pricing. This particular model is made from solid stainless steel and carries dimensions of 46mm for the case diameter. The middle case features a porthole at 10 oโclock which reveals the balance wheel and the escapement. The main crown is secured with a bayonet system and it carries a red safety ring. The bezel is made from black ceramic, which is noted for its scratch resistance. There is also an engraved tachometric scale on the bezel.
On the sapphire crystal protecting the dial is engraved โGrahamโ. The sapphire crystal has been glare proofed on both sides. The case back also uses sapphire crystal, which reveals the stunning automatic movement. The movement caliber G1790 beats at a stable 28,800 VpH, and is fitted with an Incabloc shock absorption system. The movement is beautifully decorated with hand drawn strokes and snailed external segment. The power reserve on this gorgeous timepiece stands at a standard 46 hours.
The dial is hued in anthracite and it features an open worked dial, which also shows off the balance wheel. Like most watches with this type of movement, the small seconds register is located at the 9 position, whereas the chronograph minutes counter occupies the 3 position. The chronograph seconds indicator is central and is red toned. The minutes and hours hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability at night.
The bracelet is black rubber with a tire thread motif and red inlay. Securing the strap is a stainless steel folding clasp. This model is water resistant to 100 meters (10 bars). The Graham Silverstone Skeleton RS is limited in production to just 250 numbered pieces worldwide.
