Casio Introduces New Solar Watches
The most annoying thing about quartz watches is having to change the batteries, which always seem to die at the most inconvenient times. If youโre a runner who enjoys getting your exercise outdoors, Casio has new additions to its line of sports watches that never need a battery change because theyโre solar powered.
The Solar Runner Extra Large STLS110H uses Casioโs Tough Solar Power technology to charge even in low or fluorescent light and after a full charge can go for thirteen months without needing a battery change or more exposure to light. Features include a 1/100 second stopwatch with 120-lap memory, four daily alarms, dual countdown timers, 48-city world time, LED backlight with afterglow and water resistance to 100 meters.
The Casio STLS110H is available in three color options that include a black case with black resin band and accents of orange, blue/green or yellow. This solar powered sports watch has an MSRP of $49.95.
For the female sports lovers, Casio has added the Ladies Solar Runner STLS300H. This watch also uses the Casio Tough Solar Power technology to deliver a battery life of up to three months after a full-charge. This ladies version also many of the same features as the Solar Runner Extra Large including a 120-lap memory stopwatch function with convenient large front button, four daily alarms, countdown timer, world time for 48 cities and 100-meter water resistance.
The Casio Ladies Solar Runner definitely has a more feminine look with a round display face, high-contrast numbers and LED backlight. Color options include a black case and black resin band with blue or orange features and a white case with silver-toned band and pink accents. The MSRP is also $49.95.
Casio has a reputation for making durable sports watches that donโt cost more than your yearly gym dues so these new solar-powered models are worth checking out for the athlete on a budget.
