Bremont Unveils Pair of Jaguar Watches

Fanciers of fine automobiles have called the E-Type Jaguar โ€œthe most beautiful car ever made,โ€ an opinion shared by the generation that recalls looking on with longing every time one of these long, sleek babies drove by. The E-Type Jaguar celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011 and this week the iconic automaker has something new to celebrate: two new watches from Bremont honoring the heritage of the coveted sports car.

The dashboard and instrument panel of the E-Type Jaguar provided the inspiration for the faces of the Bremont Jaguar watches and the steering wheel for the back cases. Along with the Jaguar logo on the front of the watches and the a miniature steering wheel with a Jaguar face at the center, these models have tire tread knurling on the crown and a โ€œred-line quadrantโ€ marking the 60-minute counter.

The MKI with Bremontโ€™s self-winding BWC/01 movement has a list price of $10,950 while the MKII based on the BE-50AE automatic movement sells for $6,550.

Apple Watches Shipping Sooner Than Expected

The long wait for the Apple Watch may not be quite as long as originally expected. When the Apple online store was open for orders on April 10, some models had delivery estimates of 4-6 weeks. Now a number of pre-orders have had their status changed from โ€œProcessing itemsโ€ to โ€œPreparing for shipment.โ€

An Apple spokesperson told BuzzFeed News: โ€œWeโ€™re happy to be updating many customers today with the news that their Apple Watch will arrive sooner than expected. Our team is working to fill orders as quickly as possible based on the available supply and the order in which they were received. We know many customers are still facing long lead times and we appreciate their patience.โ€

That translates to โ€œDonโ€™t get your hopes up yet because you still may be waiting until summer for your Apple Watch.โ€ There are some lucky buyers who have received UPS delivery notifications indicating that they will actually get their Apple Watch on April 24.
