Apple Watch Finally Coming to Retail Stores
After a long wait, Apple fans will finally be able to purchase the brandโs hot new smartwatch at a nearby retail store. After being constrained by limited supplies and huge demand, the device will be coming to Apple Store locations later this month.
According to a private video message leaked by 9to5Mac, Apple employees have been given their marching orders from the companyโs honchos on how best to sell the Watch to customers. Apple Senior VP of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts told store employees โthis is where the rubber hits the road, and now we need to make sure that we are above and beyond ready.โ She added that the brand must โmake sure that [it has] the best customer experience and that [this launch] is faster, smarter, and better than [Apple has] ever done before.โ
Part of making this launch โfaster, smarter and betterโ is the new โReserve and Pickupโ feature coming to Appleโs online store. Potential customers will be able to check in at 8 a.m. each morning to find out whether their local Apple Store has the model they wish to purchase. If the store has the chosen model in stock, it can be reserved and picked up at a designated time. Ahrendts has also encouraged Apple Store employees to hype the Apple Pay feature with customers.
This sounds more like the type of new product launch we have come to expect from Apple with excited customers streaming into mall stores to proudly claim the latest trendy item from the tech giant. So far there is no exact date for the Apple Watch going on sale in Apple retail stores but CEO Tim Cook has previously stated that the smartwatches would go on sale in June.
Itโs been a long wait for the Apple faithful but this looks like a hot summer for the Apple Watch.
