Tissot has honored one of their long term ambassadors – Danica Patrick with a limited edition model for 2013. The model has a heavy racing inspiration, yet is still very feminine – traits which have made it one of Tissot’s more successful watches for the year. The Danica Patrick PRC 200 from Tissot is manufactured in a limited numbered series of 4,999 pieces worldwide. This model like all of Tissot’s other pieces enjoys a two year international guarantee from the manufacturer.
This Tissot watch is crafted from stainless steel and offers case dimensions of 34mm for the diameter and rides low on the wrist with a case height of 12mm. This stunning timepiece is fitted with a ridged main crown for the easy modifications of the time and date. On the case at the 2 and 4 positions are the chronograph push pieces which operate the chronograph.
Chronographs are akin to stopwatches and usually have subdials which indicate the elapsed time. Chronographs are by far the most popular complications on watches for both men and women because of their versatility and dependability.
The bezel on the Danica Patrick 2013 is made from white ceramic and it features a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, which will ensure the continuity of this piece’s aesthetic appeal. The lugs hold the white leather strap, which features white stitching giving this piece a sporty edge. The strap is fitted with a tang type buckle also made from stainless steel. The case back also features the logo of Danica Patrick Racing engraved on it.
The dial is white which complements wonderfully both the bezel and leather strap. The dial features Arabic numerals marking the hours and silver toned hands equipped with Super-LumiNova for nighttime readability. The numeral 7, which happens to be Danica’s racing number, is highlighted in Super-LumiNova as well. The 7 illuminates brightly during low light conditions. At the 4 position is a date aperture. The dial also carries a tachymeter which can be found on the flange and gives a reading of average speeds over a set distance when used with the chronograph function.
Driving this watch is a Swiss made quartz movement caliber G15.211. As the name suggests, the Tissot PRC 200 Danica Patrick Limited Edition is water resistant to 200 meters (20 bars). Price for this watch is USD $550, and USD $895 for the version with diamonds on the dial.
