The 42mm case works well on my 7 ½ inch wrist, even though it is a little smaller than I normally wear, I really like how it looks and feels.
The domed sapphire crystal is a nice touch, I always prefer a slightly domed crystal to a flat one, at least on a dive watch. The Diver One upgraded still has the same hands and applied chrome markers, which again, at this price is not something you usually see. While I am not usually a fan of red accents on a watch, it is only the model name text and then the crown insert, so it is very subtle and I think I prefer it to the yellow of the past version.
The bezel has a slight amount of play to it, but nothing drastic, and I love that Paul went with a lumed ceramic bezel. Ceramic as most know is very scratch resistant and while a lumed bezel really doesn’t have a huge advantage over a non lumed one, it is that “cool” factor in play. The lume of the bezel lights up nice, but it is not as bright as the lume of the hands and markers on the dial. It is just slightly weaker.
As shown in the video, the rubber ring around the crown is a little prone to coming off when adjusting the crown. I feel the rubber ring should have been maybe glued down to the crown, since it is just an accent and does not have an actual function.
Another thing of note, at least on my example, is that the second hand does not tick on most of the markers, meaning it ticks in between them. Now, this could very easily be just my example and if this is something that concerns you, I would email Paul before ordering and have him look over one before sending it out to you. Again, I can not say that this is on all the Diver One Silicon models, just on the one I received.
The silicon strap is fitted to the lugs and is very comfortable on the wrist, but because it is silicon it will attract a good amount of lint and dirt. It is a high quality silicon though, and I enjoyed wearing it and just wiped it off with a soft microfiber cloth occasionally. Since the Diver One Silicon is very affordable, grabbing an isofrane or other high quality strap for it is an option if you want.
As I said, I feel the Diver One Silicone is a great value. Yes, it is a quartz, but its also just $200 including worldwide shipping. And its a watch made by a diver, for divers. So whether you actually dive, or just love the look of dive watches, it should satisfy both. The upgrades are notable, and make the Diver One even better, both in components and looks (in my opinion).
If you like the Diver One Silicon, you can pick one up HERE.

It’s kinda hard for me to see the point of this watch. I mean.. If you want a ‘beater’ to swim with etc., wouldn’t a ~$50 Casio (that marlin diver model) be better? And on the other hand, for a serious/main watch, wouldn’t you want slightly better finishing/detailing/movement?
The point is you can go to every high street and look in a shop window at ‘beaters’ made by multi billion dollar companies with thousands of employees or you can come to the watchreport and look at micro brands for a little bit of individualality and most are one man operations.
I can’t find a retailer in the UK. Can this watch only be bought from the USA?
Scurfa does not have retailers, they sell directly online, as a matter of fact Scurfa is UK company. Take a look at their website for more info.
