New for Review – The Armida A1 Diver

by WatchReport

This ETA powered beast is called the A1 and is the first model from new comer Armida Watches. It’s 45 mm stainless steel case is 19 mm tall due to its dramatically domed sapphire crystal. The A1 also features a lumed bezel and a helium escape valve allowing it to achieve 1000m water resistance. Armida was kind enough to let us borrow one so stay tuned for our review in the coming weeks.

I own the Armida A1 ETA with the “Superdome.”ย  Trust me, the dome is a very COOL feature but it does not overwhelm the watch.ย  The legibility of the dial and bezel — even at relatively acute angles — is excellent.ย  The SuperLuminova C3 lume is as good as the Omega and Seiko lume.ย  At 46mm in dia, it’s not XXL.ย  It big but not over the top.ย  The massive screw-down crown is excellent.ย  The bezel action is precise. The Swiss ETA 2824-2 is the gold standard for divers. I REALLY am high on this watch.ย ย ย  Chris at Armida is great to work with.ย  (Louisaz)
