Harry Winston Project Z6 Blue
The Project Z6 Blue Edition is manufactured using Zalium, which has been treated with grey DLC (Diamond Like Carbon). Zalium is an alloy of aluminum and zirconium. Zalium is used extensively in aeronautical engineering due to its hypoallergenic and anti-corrosive properties. Zalium is lighter then titanium and it normally features a lustrous gunmetal finish. This allows for the watchmakers at Harry Winston to fashion highly durable timepieces.
The case carries a diameter of 44mm. The single tiered bezel is fixed and features two protective outcroppings over the ridged main crown. The bezel also houses a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, which is guaranteed to maintain this watches aesthetic value. The lugs are cambered, which contour to the wrist for increased comfort.
This timepiece features a sapphire crystal case back, where one can view the manual wound mechanical movement. The movement contains 45 jewels and features a 72 hour power reserve. The balance wheel beats incessantly at 4 hz or 28,800 VpH, which is considered to be a happy medium between precision and durability.
The dial is blue and features five types of finishes. The main dial which gives the time carries a snail finish and a circular satin brushed finish where the Arabic numeral hour markers reside. The alarm subdial features Cote de Genève with red triangle marking the hours and minutes of the alarm. The rest of the dial features a vertical satin brushed finish. At the 2 o’clock position, is a day and night indicator, while at the 8 o’clock position is located an aperture revealing the alarm hammer. The hour and minute hands are sword shaped and rhodium toned with a blue central ridge complementing the main dial.
The designers at Harry Winston have chosen to accessorize the Project Z6 Blue Edition with a textured blue rubber strap, secured by a Zalium ardillon buckle. This handsome wristwatch carries a water resistance of 100 meters (10 Bars), making this Project Z6 watch ideally suited for daily wear.
