Want to Buy a Pre-Owned James Bond Watch?
Of all the things we love about Ian Fleming’s iconic superspy James Bond, none arouse as much attention as his lavish array of toys. Every time a new Bond action flick hits the screen all eyes will be on 007’s clothes, cars and of course, his luxury watches. From the original 1961 Rolex Submariner worn by Sean Connery in the first Bond film “Dr. No” to the Omega Seamaster sported by Daniel Craig in “Skyfall,” the timepieces seen in 007 movies have acquired a legendary status of their own.
While most of us have about a much chance of actually purchasing an iconic Bond timepiece as we do of driving one of the character’s Ferraris, a few watch lovers will have the opportunity to buy their own pre-owned luxury piece at a sale in Cardiff this week.
The sale is being presented by Parkhouse and will run from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31 with all stock being sold on a first come, first served basis. Parkhouse chairman Michael Laing OBE stated, “Our Pre-Owned Roadshow is a unique collection of some superb timepieces.
“An excellent buy, we guarantee that all of our pre-owned stock has been fully inspected, serviced and approved by our in-house accredited watchmaker and as such comes with a minimum one year’s guarantee.
“Luxury watches are built to last and if taken care of even a 15 year old timepiece will look and run like new but at a keener price so we find that many of our customers opt for a second or indeed third watch.
“Pre-owned is also attractive for many younger customers looking to buy their first luxury timepiece.”
These Bond-worthy pre-owned timepieces from Rolex, Omega and Breitling are not as pricey as brand new models but will still set you back about £9,000 to £39,000. The collection may be viewed at parkhousethejeweller.com.
