The Uniq GAF44 includes two straps: a black calf leather that is super soft and smooth with a nice grain, and a black nylon nato strap. The black leather measures at 120/80 and should fit a nice range of wrist sizes, though if you have an 8โ wrist or larger, you might want to wear it on the nato or get yourself a longer strap.
The lume is very good, I wouldnโt say excellent or the type of lume that you can read by, but it is bright enough for sure and lasts a good many hours.
On my 7.5-inch wrist the GAF44 sits very comfortably and the strap buckles right in the middle of the strap, resting the watch in the middle on my wrist. The strap does have two keepers, one fixed and one floating. I had to remove the floating keeper on mine though, because I really donโt have a lot of tongue left over for the keeper to stay in place.
The movement used is the Swiss Ronda 715 quartz movement. I have had this movement in quite a few watches over the years, never having an issue with it. The Ronda 715 has a battery life of approximately 5 years.
I think the Uniq GAF44 offers a lot to watch enthusiast looking for a nice casual watch. Yes, it is military inspired but has a nicer look than most field watches I have come across and has a lot of nice features with the 2 straps (the leather being my preferred way to wear it), the use of the sapphire crystal, and the heavy lume application. Itโs a nice modern size at 44mm, which for many is a sweet spot, and itโs affordable at $349 US direct from Uniq with Free shipping worldwide, as well as a few US dealers.
