Brand new from TW Steel is the Slim Line Collection that was just unveiled on their Facebook page. This collection at first glance looks pretty dressy, yet still keeps many of the design elements that the brand has become famous for. Details are still sketchy right now but one noticeable thing is that this line is thinner than the usual beefy models that TW Steel is known for. Also there is a more conventional style crown on this model. The feel of the design is reminiscent of their Canteen series but I think this series a bit nicer.
The case is made in two versions โ polished stainless steel, and rose gold PVD stainless steel. Dial colors are pretty basic with silver, blue, and black but I hope once this becomes a big seller that TW Steel will increase the selections. These watches come with either black or brown leather straps fitted with metal inserts matching the case material. Securing the watch is a traditional tang type buckle.
Itโs TW Steel, so learning that this case came in a 45mm case diameter was no big shocker, in fact I like the direction of these models, where I can feel the brand evolving to meet the needs of their varied consumer base, as opposed to following a very strict โthis is who we areโ credo. As a consumer, Iโve tried on many TW Steels but have always had trouble picking one out because I felt they were just a little too big for my tiny wrist.
As if I needed convincing anymore, this line features sapphire crystal for the dial aperture. The watches are also water resistant to a reliable 50 meters. The dial is very formal with Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 position and elongated baton indexes for the rest of the hour markers. At 3 oโclock is a neat date aperture, in keeping with the conservative aesthetic of this line. My favorite is the stainless steel, blue dial on blue leather version. Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favorite.
