Kevin Hart Talks About His Enviable Watch Collection

When heโ€™s not busy promoting his latest film โ€œThe Wedding Ringerโ€ or doing stand-up comedy, comic-turned-actor Kevin Hart can be found adding to his impressive collection of luxury watches.

Growing up on the mean streets of Philadelphia, Hart could only dream of the success heโ€™s enjoying today but has always had a taste for the finer things. In an interview with Hautetime he recalled, โ€œThe passion for watches has always been there,โ€ and added, โ€œIt definitely gets bigger and better.โ€

Hartโ€™s collection got off to a promising start with one of the most coveted of all fine timepieces, a Rolex Submariner. Next he added a stainless steel Daytona that remains a favorite today โ€œbecause itโ€™s such a hard watch to get.โ€

Hart reveals that heโ€™s a gentleman of good taste by eschewing the bling-studded status symbols preferred by some celebrities to choose classic pieces that will retain their value like five watches by Richard Milles, two more by Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, plus a dozen Rolexes. The comic actor has a fine eye for the craftsmanship that goes into watches like these. โ€œThe effort watchmakers put into making something so unique,โ€ he stated. โ€œThatโ€™s what I love.โ€

Hart even managed to sneak one watch from his collection into โ€œThe Wedding Ringerโ€ and the Rolex Sea-Dweller also makes an appearance on the poster for the film. The savvy collector explained that he chose this item because it seemed ideally suited to his character in the film, a suave and successful young CEO who offers his services as a best man for hire to socially awkward bridegrooms.

Whatโ€™s ahead for Kevin Hart? Heโ€™ll be co-starring with Will Ferrell in โ€œGet Hard,โ€ a comedy that opens on March 27 and will be touring with his stand-up comedy act in April. Can a gig as brand ambassador for one of the major watchmakers be far behind?
