Thomas Earnshaw Admiral ES-8008-01 Watch Review
Today, I’d like to share my thoughts about the Admiral model from Thomas Earnshaw Watches. First – a brief tidbit about Thomas Earnshaw.ย He was born in 1749 and was an English watchmaker.ย He was best known for refining marine chronometer production and making them available to the general public, as well as, refining the transit clock in London.ย The mission of the watch company today is the same as Thomas Earnshawsโ, which is “to make beautiful watches beautifully simple to buy.” You can read more about Thomas Earnshaw Watches HERE. The Admiral model has a retail price of an extremely reasonable $179USD through certain Amazon vendors.ย The price can be as high as $699USD with some vendors, which is quite unreasonable and should be quite clear after reading further.

First, I want to take a look at the packaging.ย I know the vast majority of consumers could care less about the packaging, but I believe presentation can have a huge impact on how most of us can end up feeling about the watch inside the packaging. Presentation has a direct impact on the anticipation felt by the consumer when opening the packaging.ย In this case, the packaging is fairly simplistic with an outer cardboard shell and inner clamshell style case.ย Outside of providing adequate protection for the watch during shipping, my level of anticipation was tempered as to what I was going to find inside the case.ย The packaging is neither extravagant nor functional, as it will most likely wind up in the closet with the rest of our watch boxes.ย Once again, I will state to any watch company, either provide extravagant packaging or functional packing and nothing in between.
