Rolex Oyster Submariner Date Stainless Steel
Rolex is said to be the bar that other watches are measured to. The Submariner in particular has been a beacon of superb, solid, Swiss craftsmanship. The Rolex Submariner is considered to be one of the best diving watches out there on the market today. Since its inception, this collection has set the standard for water resistance, which is implicitly important in a diving watch.
The case of the Submariner featured here is made from 904L stainless steel, which is a highly corrosion resistant alloy of stainless steel. The case measures in at 40mm for the case diameter. Though this is a conservative size by todayโs standards, the Submariner has become such a classic it is virtually unaffected by fads or trends in the market.
The bezel is made from Cerachrom which is used due to its corrosion resistant and scratch resistant properties. The unidirectional bezel is ratcheted and offers the wearer the measurement of elapsed time. The bezel also holds snugly a scratch resistant sapphire crystal which protects the dial from dust and the elements.
The main crown is screw locked (part of the Triplock system from Rolex), which aids in the maintenance of the water resistance of the Submariner. The watch carries a 300 meter or 1000 feet water resistance, which is perfect for all aquatic activities.
Rolex uses a large easy-to-read dial with luminous markers and hands for legibility under low light conditions. The celebrated โMercedesโ hands are used for this collection. The dial also features a large date display enhanced by a magnifying lens at the 3 position.
Running this timepiece is a self-winding mechanical caliber 3135, which is certified by the COSC as a chronometer. Watches gain chronometer certification when they exhibit accuracy when placed under harsh conditions. The parameters for COSC certification is a daily variance of -4/+6 seconds. Completing this watch is the stainless steel oyster bracelet fitted with a quick extender system and Oysterlock clasp.

I completely agree with you – the Sub isn’t effected by fads! It’s the first watch model that I bought and still one of my everyday wears. Love the black dial and bezel.
