What are Watch Karats?

– The Karat describes the purity of the gold that is used in the construction of the case. Mainly, watches made from gold (rose, yellow, or white) are of the 18 karat variety. Though not common, there are watches made from 14kt gold. Pure gold is 24 karats but has proven to be way too soft for any practical watchmaking applications.
