Hamilton has been quite prolific recently as it was featured in a Jack Ryan blockbuster hit. Hamilton has a loyal worldwide following that is has earned through dedication to pure Swiss watchmaking techniques and American design techniques. It is no wonder that Hamilton enjoys an excellent relationship with Hollywood, where many of its watches are featured.
The gent’s version of the Jazzmaster Viewmatic Skeleton is sized to 40mm for the case diameter. This size is ideal for wear under a tailored suit. The case on both versions of the watch is crafted in stainless steel. The watches come with leather straps – white for the lady’s, and black for the gent’s. The straps can be interchanged with a five row stainless steel bracelet. The straps are secured with a classic pin buckle, while the steel bracelet is fastened using a triple deployant clasp.
These models are fitted with a self-winding mechanical movement caliber H-20-S. The movement is skeletonized and therefore can be seen from both sides. Skeletonized movements are usually highly decorated and the movement powering the Jazzmaster Viewmatic Skeleton is no exception. The movement boasts laser engraving, an open worked rotor, and emblematic H’s on certain parts.
The open worked dial also features dauphine shaped hands, which make the time easily readable at night. On the flange is a conservative minute track with Arabic numerals on each 5 minute interval. Just below this is another ring where the words “Hamilton Viewmaster” are inscribed. The dial gives an excellent view of key moving parts on this watch such as the balance wheel, the hairspring, and the escapement. Both of these watches retail at $1,195.
