Samsung Partners with Designers for Gear S2 Bands

Smartwatches arenโ€™t just for geeks anymore and more fashionable buyers are going to be looking for ways to customize their devices. One of the easiest ways to match your watch to your outfit is by having a wardrobe of interchangeable bands. Samsung makes this easy to do with the new Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic models so itโ€™s only natural that the company would partner with designers to make sure that owners have a variety of new bands to choose from.

One of these collaborations is with Italian designer and architect Alessandro Mendini to bring his bold sense of style to a group of custom watch faces and bands for Samsungโ€™s smartwatches. These brightly colored accessories are an ideal match for the futuristic style of the Gear S2.

If Mendiniโ€™s wild designs arenโ€™t your style there are plenty of other choices like the leather bands from Case-Mate including a black chevron strap with a clasp by Rebecca Minkoff. Complementing the more classic look of the Gear S2 Classic are the luxury bands by Chow Tai Fook with their accents of 18 gold or diamonds.

Casetify gives owners to chance to be original by creating their own band designs or choosing a personal photo. The less creative may pick from five bands of sweat-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in Dark Marble, White Marble, Coral Tribal, Diamond or Woodland Camouflage.

For a sportier look, two bands from iFit for the Gear S2 are made from thermoplastic elastomers and another six are crafted from leather or NATO material. Also designing bands for the Gear S2 in NATO and translucent TPU is Incipio. Other more sophisticated choices for the Gear S2 Classic are the three leather bands in Italian Buttero, Minerva Box and lizard skin by SLG.

So if you think the new Gear S2 models look a bit plain coming out of the box, you will have endless ways to customize them to your own personal style.
