One-of-a-Kind Maurice Lacroix Watches Offered Online
If you’ve been tempted to buy a fine watch at an auction house but have been scared off by the frenetic atmosphere and escalating bids, Antiquorum has a sale for you. The watch auction house is now hosting the “40 Years Unique Legacy Event” which offers 40 totally unique timepieces by Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix at pre-set prices.
These 40 watches are all prototypes that were never meant to be sold so each one is a unique find. These are models that were manufactured, worn or handled by the Lacroix staff and studied for their commercial appeal. While these are genuine Maurice Lacroix pieces and all are attractive, not all made it to the watch brand’s final collections.
The sale commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Maurice Lacroix brand, which means that the watches on sale are modern styles. Collectors of the Lacroix line will probably recognize these models as being very similar to the ones that made it to stores but differ slightly in details like a different dial color or the addition of diamonds on the bezel.
Some watches have been worn or handled but all have been tested and are ready to go. Don’t expect bargain basement prices as most of these one-of-a-kind Lacroix timepieces carry tags of $2,500 to $10,000. The sale is happening at Antiquorum’s online watch boutique from September 8 – 23.
The watch pictured is the Maurice Lacroix PT 6148 Unique Legacy Watch, a self-winding stainless steel model with a stainless steel deployant clasp. This piece sells for $2,520.00. The most expensive watch in the collection is a Maurice Lacroix MP 7088 Retrograde Tourbillon in platinum with 90 hours of power reserve, retrograde date indication and a Maurice Lacroix buckle. This beauty will set you back $60,000.
