Apart from the eye catching case shape, the LM-7 has one other distinctive feature that sits atop the right side of the case. The large orange push button that sticks up is responsible for the movement of the bezel. While most divers use digital computers that track downtime while under water, the old school way was to use the bezel of your dive watch. To ensure the bezel does not move while under water, the LM-7 is equipped with a locking mechanism and can only be moved when pushing the orange button.
While on the topic of the bezel, the LM-7 comes with a flat sapphire crystal bezel, measures in at 42mm, and is equipped with Swiss Super Luminova. While not as bright as the dial lume, the bezel lume provides ample brightness that wonโt disappoint. As an added bonus, you will receive an engraved bezel that you can easily change out when the mood calls for a more toned down bezel look.
Sitting on the bottom right side of the case, the LM-7 PloProf is equipped with a helium release valve. With a water resistance rating of 1250 meters, the helium release valve ensures proper dissipation of helium gas while diving at depths that require decompression, keeping that sapphire crystal nicely secured on your watch. The LM-7 is also equipped with a screw down crown with an etched O7 logo.
Protecting the dial, the LM-7 comes with a flat sapphire crystal with inside AR coating. The dial measures in at 28mm and keeps a simple and clean appeal using blocks to mark the inner hour markers and larger candle sticks to mark the 12, 6, and 9-hour marks. The minute hand is bold and outlined in orange, making the finding and reading the time an easy feat.ย The date window is easily legible and located at the 3 Oโclock position. Completing the dial is the Ocean7 logo with is placed under the 12 Oโclock, and the 1250-meter water resistance mark above the 6 Oโclock position.
The strap on this particular LM-7 PloProf is the upgraded anti-static coated silicone strap. Not a huge fan of silicone straps, I was pleasantly surprised as the quality of the strap is superb. With the anti-static coating strap, such items as lint, dirt and everyday environmental exposures to the strap are no longer pesky feats you have to deal with. Anytime the strap became dirty, I simply either blew the lint off, or was able to clean the strap with the ease with a finger. Also available for an upgrade option is the matching hardened titanium buckle. This sample model came equipped with the upgraded buckle, and I do believe its worth the investment for the durability,as well as the matching feature to the case.
