L.A. Luxury Boutique to Sell Apple Watch April 24

Apple fanboyz eat your hearts out! While youโ€™re sulking outside your favorite Apple Store longing for the day that you can stroll in and purchase your very own Apple Watch, some trendy purveyors of luxury goods will be offering the device to their elite clientele on Friday, April 24.

In another reminder that Apple is putting chic before geek with the debut of the tech giantโ€™s first wearable device, the company will be giving customers at a few fashionable boutiques around the world first dibs on actually selling the Apple Watch over the counter. Here is an excerpt from the Apple press release: โ€œBeginning April 24, Apple Watch will also be available at boutiques in major cities including colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo, Maxfield in Los Angeles and The Corner in Berlin, and select Apple Authorized Resellers in China and Japan.โ€

This is a major coup for the legendary Maxfield boutique in West Hollywood, California, since it will be the only retailer in the United States to have Apple Watches for sale rather than just for order on the first day that the in-demand smartwatch can be purchased. Given the Melrose Blvd. storeโ€™s reputation as a west coast style mecca, itโ€™s a safe bet that some well-heeled shoppers will walk out with the 18K gold Apple Watch Edition.

Maxfield is an ideal place to show off the pricey timepiece since it was named the fifth most expensive store in America by Bundle in 2013. Even more telling is that shoppers spend an average of $2,500 per visit. According to LARacked, Maxfield will be hosting an โ€œexclusive, custom-designed shop-in-shopโ€ for the launch of the Apple Watch.

Although the Maxfield regulars are likely to go straight for the gold, a statement from the retailer says that even the mere mortals who can afford only the starter models will be able to put down their money (or plastic) on Friday.

โ€œWe too eagerly anticipate the launch on April 24, at which time you will have the opportunity to view our entire Apple Watch collection which will include Sport, Watch and Edition models.โ€

The action will be happening at 8825 Melrose Ave. starting at 11 a.m. Friday morning.
