The Hamilton Pilot Pioneer Auto Chrono was released for the 2013 collection at Basel. The case of this watch is crafted from solid, hypoallergenic stainless steel which has been both polished and brushed adding depth to this piece. The round steel case carries dimensions of 41mm which is a great size for most men. At this size, the Hamilton Pilot Pioneer stands smaller than any high-end pilotโs watch. Most other brandsโ pilotโs watches are in fact more like 46-48mm.
The middle case by the main crown and chrono pushers is slightly thicker which acts as a shield for these actuators. The main crown is ridged for the painless adjustment of both the time and date. The bezel is stationary and it holds a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, glare proofed on both sides, which is used by Hamilton to maintain the watchโs aesthetic appeal.
The dial features a chronograph which is complete with a counter at 3 โ displaying the chrono minutes; and a central chronograph seconds hand. The black dial also features large Arabic numerals for the hour markers. At the 9 position is a small seconds subdial, while at the 4:30 position is a small date aperture. At the flange is a conservative minute track in white markings allowing for precise readouts of the time.
Driving this watch is an ultra-precise self-winding movement caliber H-31. This movement features a power reserve of 60 hours. ThePilot Pioneer Auto Chrono is fitted with a NATO strap in black which is fully adjustable based on wrist size. NATO straps have been very popular over the last 2 years due to their extremely comfortable materials. This model is water resistant to 150 meters (15 Bars).
