Goldgenie Plans to Bling Up Apple Watches
For those who have more money than good taste and find the $17,000 18K gold Apple Watch just a bit too plain, Goldgenie will create a one-of-a-kind blinged-out smartwatch that is sure to turn heads. Most of those heads will belong to jewel thieves but the resulting timepiece will definitely get attention.
Brikk has already announced plans for bedazzling those Apple Watches that will go on sale later this month and now Goldgenie is getting into the game with even gaudier and more expensive customized pieces. โSpectrumโ Apple Watches by Goldgenie will have layers of 24K gold, rose gold or platinum plus layers of diamonds added to the standard stainless steel or gold models.
Prices for these bejeweled beauties start at ยฃ2,000 ($3,000 USD) for a stainless Apple Watch plated with gold and go up to ยฃ110,000 ($163,000) for a diamond encrusted 18K gold Apple Watch Edition. For those who desire the flash of diamonds without the price tag Goldgenie will have Swarovski crystal models for only ยฃ3,000 ($4,450 USD).
If you like your Apple Watch unadorned but have the urge for a jazzier band, Goldgenie also offers straps of crocodile, python or topgrain calf leather. The python bands come in an array of colors including โSeville Orange, Fuchsia Pink, Sea Green, Black and Cherry Red.โ
If youโre craving a diamond encrusted Apple Watch to match your iPhone 6, Goldgenie is offering a very limited edition of the โEcstasyโ model which will be set with five carats of white diamonds plus a single flawless stone in the crown. Since the Ecstasy iPhone 6 goes for ยฃ2.3 million ($3,410,000 USD) the watch is likely to have a similar price tag.
Goldgenie will begin taking orders on April 9, the day before Apple begins to show the new smartwatches in their stores. Wonder which luxury-loving celeb will be the first to sport one of these on the red carpet?
