DJ Martin Garrix is New TAG Heuer Brand Ambassador
TAG Heuer’s long and impressive list of brand ambassadors is heavy with professional athletes but the latest addition to the roster boasts a different type of talent. At just 19, Martin Garrix is already a superstar in the world of dance music.
At a lavish party on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, Garrix was introduced as being “Young, talented, unique, disruptive” which explains why he fits so well in the world of TAG Heuer. After taking up the art of mixing at the tender age of eight, Garrix achieved his first success at 16 with his remix of the Christina Aguilera hit “Your Body.” His solo single “Animals” cemented his star status in 2013, landing Garrix at #4 on DJ Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 hottest DJs. The Dutch DJ has also been named to Billboard’s best “21 Under 21” and Forbes “30 Under 30” lists.
In a statement to the press, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver said: “The TAG Heuer logo and statement reads: ‘Swiss Avant Garde since 1860’, so our DNA clearly states we have to be connected to the future and to the young generation. Today, I am particularly proud that Martin Garrix has accepted to become a TAG Heuer ambassador. Alongside Cara Delevingne, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Guetta, GEM and Li Yi Feng in Asia, Martin Garrix perfectly embodies the #DontCrackUnderPressure philosophy of TAG Heuer and a generation, who will curate the direction of the luxury market in the future.”
As a product of the cutthroat Dutch DJ scene, Martin Garrix knows how to deal with pressure. He may not be a jock but he’s just the type of youthful pioneer that epitomizes the TAG Heuer style. As one of the luxury brands that are aiming for the younger customer, TAG Heuer seems to have picked another winner in this hot DJ.
