The FLYBOY AV-4021 comes with a genuine leather Nato style strap. Those of you who are not familiar with Nato straps, the straps are on the thin side (usually nylon), provide great flexibility, and are extremely comfortable to wear. The strap is roughly 11.5 inches long, a consistent 21 mm in width, measures 1mm in height, and has a rounded taper at the butt end of the strap. Having a 7โ wrist, I found that the strap was a bit long, but due to the flexibility, the excess strap was secured nicely within the second loop bracket. The strap is double stitched with what looks like durable nylon stitching in 6 positions.
Complimenting the case, the strap is equipped with a stainless steel buckle that displays the AVI-8 logo nicely. On the reverse side of the strap, an engraved stamp nicely displays the AVI-8 logo.
The only downfall I foresee with this leather strap is that in time, the strap will wear faster than a thicker, more durable leather strap. With that said, after time you will get a nicely aged look to this strap, but if you wear the watch on a consistent basis, you will have to replace the strap sooner than other leather straps.
