Apple Offers In-Store Promotion on Apple Watch
Itโs pretty rare for Apple to run a promotion on a brand new product but thatโs just what the tech giant is doing right now with the Apple Watch. While a $50 discount may sound tempting, the limitations on this deal are likely to discourage most potential buyers.
From October 30 through November 15, Apple is offering a $50 discount off the purchase of an Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport when bought at the same time as a new iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus. The watch and the phone must be purchased together in a single transaction.
Thatโs just the beginning to a list of limitations to this offer. First, the promotion is good only at certain Apple Store locations in the San Francisco and Boston areasโno online orders. The high end Apple Watch Edition and Apple Watch Hermรจs models are not eligible for this discount.
Is this a sign that the Apple Watch isnโt selling as well as Apple had hoped? Maybe, but it could also be a ploy to get media attention for the device ahead of the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, coming up later this month.
Is this the best deal of 2015 on the Apple Watch? Not likely. As availability of the Apple Watch expands into discount chains and wireless providers weโre more likely to see store gift certificates thrown in with a purchase and two-for deals on the combination of the watch with an iPhone.
So donโt feel too disappointed if this deal is not happening in your area because the 2015 holiday shopping season is officially here and certain to bring bigger and better discounts on practically everything including the Apple Watch.
