Apple Invites Media to “Spring Forward”
Next weekend we will be bombarded with reminders to “spring forward” as Daylight Savings Time kicks in for 2015, even though most of us don’t really need warning since our computers and mobile devices will handle the time change without our help. There is one such message that’s likely to grab our attention since it indicates that we’re finally going to get the lowdown on the most anticipated new timepiece of the year.
On Thursday, Apple sent out email invites to the press for a media event to be held at 10 a.m. PDT at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and like all invitations from the tech giant, this one contained a short cryptic phrase: “Spring Forward.”
As usual, members of the press have no definite idea what Apple will be telling them at the latest media event but they’ll all show up anyway. Given the timing and the catch phrase, it’s safe to bet that the focus of this get-together will be the Apple Watch coming out in April.
While Apple did drop the main specs of the wearable device at a previous event back in September there are still a few pertinent details yet to be revealed like exact release date, battery life, accessories and most importantly, pricing. The event will be live streamed via Safari browser and Apple TV.
