Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore LeBron James Limited Edition
Audemars Piguet has honored LeBron James with a Limited Edition timepiece named after him. This watch comes from the wildly successful Royal Oak Offshore line. LeBron James has been an ambassador for Audemars Piguet since 2011. Considered one of the best basketball players of all time, King James, as he is referred, collaborated with AP to produce this modern masterpiece. The Royal Oak Offshore LeBron James is limited in production to just 600 pieces globally.
Royal Oak Offshore watches are big and the LeBron James Limited doesn’t disappoint in that area. The case diameter stands at 44mm, while this watch rides high on the wrist with a case height of 17mm. The case of the LeBron James is crafted from 18kt pink gold with a fixed octagonal titanium bezel. The pushers for the chronograph and main crown are made from black ceramic, with the pusher at 2 o’clock encrusted with diamonds. Surrounding the main crown and pushers is grey rubber. The case back is engraved with inscription “Royal Oak Offshore LeBron James”. The case back also features a sapphire crystal with the LBJ signature in blue.
The dial is also grey with a ‘Mega Tapisserie’ guilloche design which is hand engraved on each and every dial. The dial also carries hand applied pink gold hour markers in both indexes and oversized Arabic numerals. Also in pink gold are the hands which are coated with lume for nighttime readability. At the 3 o’clock position is a rounded date aperture. The subdials display the true seconds, and chrono minutes and hours in three separate registers. The chronograph seconds are indicated using a central hand.
Running this watch is the in house made automatic movement caliber 3126/3840 made in Switzerland. This movement offers power reserve of 55 hours when fully wound. The oscillating rotor is made from a single block of 22 carat gold. This model vibrates at 21,600 VpH and the movement is finished with inverted snailing on the bridges.
The LeBron James Limited Edition is fitted with a grey large square scaled alligator strap which is hand sewn and secured with a pin buckle made from 18kt pink gold. This watch also comes with an additional grey rubber strap. This gorgeous watch is made to withstand up to 100 meters of water pressure and is backed by a two-year guarantee from the manufacturer.
